Pioneer in the digitisation of smart real estate and mobility

The demand for flexible mobility and access management is growing rapidly. Skopei provides solutions that enable companies to optimally utilise shared mobility and workspaces, with smart access control, management, and valuable insights. This way, employees remain flexible and operational costs decrease, while the environmental impact also diminishes. In short, efficiency and freedom, without compromise.

Where it began

The origin of Skopei lies at the TU Delft campus, summer 2016. Niels Jacobs and René Smeets, founders of Kinetic Vision, had been working here since 2009 on digital solutions from their office at the historic Mijnbouwstraat 120. Here the idea for a flexible reservation system arose, as their office space was rented out to various users. However, access proved difficult to manage due to the access cards that TU Delft itself controlled. This challenge led to the first solution: a simple pin code system for door access, allowing tenants to independently enter the building.

The concept attracted the attention of Dutch Bicycle Group, which was interested in a similar solution for bike rentals. This resulted in the development of the first Skopei product: an electronic bike lock with a pin code, establishing Skopei as a pioneer in smart locks and mobility solutions.
