Skopei
Skopei, derived from the Greek word skopein, meaning ‘to look,’ ‘to observe,’ or ‘to examine,’ was founded in 2016. What began as a simple PIN code system for door access has now evolved into a complete ecosystem for sharing, managing, and using company resources such as offices, vehicles, and meeting rooms.
Skopei makes this flexible, keyless, and efficient, allowing organizations to optimize resource utilization, save time and costs, and provide users with seamless access.
Where it began
Skopei originated from the need to rent office spaces on the TU Delft campus. The main challenge was access: the key cards were entirely managed by TU Delft, which meant tenants could not enter the building independently.
This challenge led to the first digital solution: a simple PIN code system for door access, allowing tenants to enter the building on their own.
The concept caught the attention of Dutch Bicycle Group, who were interested in a similar solution for bike rentals. This resulted in the development of the first Skopei product: an electronic bike lock with a PIN code.
Mission
Skopei recognizes that many organizations face daily challenges in managing and sharing company assets such as cars, bicycles, office spaces, and meeting facilities. Often, these resources remain unused, resulting in empty offices, parked cars and bikes, and vacant meeting rooms.
